New Feature: Licensing Optional Fees

Sometimes, in addition to the base fee of a license, you may have several optional fees. Things like an application fee (that wouldn’t apply to a renewal), an inspection fee, or impact fees may all fall into this category. Traditionally, our customers add this as a miscellaneous charge, but then it’s not linked to the business. Now with fees as a part of licensing, we can define those beforehand and add them when we’re processing!

During a new application, the fees appear as an option on the Charge screen. If the license type has fees available, you’ll see a fees section below the primary charge calculation:

Just click the ‘Charge’ button, and it will be added to the cart.

If you need to add a charge later, potentially for an ‘Change’ or ‘Re-inspection’ fee, no problem! All the fees are tracked in the license application:

The license cannot be issued until all fees are settled. Once they’re paid, then the license application will be eligible to become a license:

With this new feature, municipalities now have more options with how they want to track and settle ancillary fees for their licenses.
