Software Update: Legislative User

Legislative member user accounts are now set up on the staff side: add their legislative profile, seat them on the board, and connect their email. When that member later creates a portal account and signs in with the same email address, the portal recognizes them, connects their account to the created profile, and opens up the upcoming and past meetings for the bodies they serve on.

The resident portal showing a Legislative Meetings page with a list of upcoming meetings, each with its date, time, and location, available to a board member immediately after signing in

For your staff, this means onboarding a sitting board member is a two-step task instead of a back-and-forth with the member’s inbox, and your office keeps a single authoritative record for each person rather than reconciling duplicates later. If the system finds anything ambiguous (i.e. two profiles sharing the same email address) it leaves the record alone for staff to sort out, and to keep that from recurring, new legislative profiles now flag an email address that another profile is already using. Members who have never served before still follow the familiar path of creating a profile and applying; nothing about that experience changes.
