Software Update: Timed Expire For Unpaid Permit Applications

Managing a backlog of unpaid permit applications can be a real headache for permitting staff. Applications that are accepted but never paid for sit in the system indefinitely, cluttering your queue and making it harder to focus on active work. We’ve added a new option that automatically cancels online permit applications that haven’t been paid within 30 days of acceptance.

When enabled, the system checks daily for online applications that were accepted but remain unpaid past the 30-day window. Those applications are automatically cancelled, freeing up your queue and sending a clear signal to applicants that timely payment is expected. This keeps your permitting pipeline clean without requiring staff to manually track and follow up on each unpaid application.

This feature is entirely optional, your team can enable or disable it based on your jurisdiction’s policies. If you’d like to start using automatic expiration for unpaid online applications, reach out and we’ll help you get it configured.
